The effort by arsonists to burn down the Complex failed, adding a new dimension to the turmoil that enveloped the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
It was discovered that the as-yet-unidentified assailants attempted to set the Assembly complex on fire on Sunday night.
They would have been successful in their aim had security agencies not acted so quickly.
This forced a combined security team made up of members of the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Security, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigerian Police Force to assume control of the complex.

Sani Burra, the special adviser on state and national assembly liaison to the governor of Bauchi State, formally verified the occurrence to press on Monday.
"Assalamu alaikum!" he exclaimed. Just to let you know, sir, someone tried to set fire to the Hon. House (Bauchi State House of Assembly) Complex last night.
Security authorities have taken control of the area as a result to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
Last Friday, The MEDIA reported that the Bauchi State House of Assembly was experiencing a leadership crisis as a result of 22 members' demand to vote out the Speaker and other key officers of the House for their incompetence.
Abubakar Suleiman, the Speaker of the Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, is now on a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he serves as the deputy leader of the Saudi Arabian Muslim Pilgrimage Team for 2022.
Suleiman had lately joined the Peoples Democratic Party after leaving the All Progressives Congress, the party on whose platform he was elected as a lawmaker. With his defection, the APC now has 16 members in the Assembly, compared to the PDP's 15 members.
It's interesting to note that 15 APC members and 7 PDP members made up the 22 members who voted to reject the Speaker and other important officers.
The 22 lawmakers were led by the Deputy Majority Leader of the Assembly, Baballe Dambam (APC), who represents the Dambam/Dagauda/Jalam Constituency. He declared that the leadership of the House had failed in its duty to the members and urged them to voluntarily resign from their various positions or face impeachment at any time.
"After our meeting held today, Friday, 1st July 2022, 22 members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly resolved to pass a vote of no-confidence on the leadership of the House beginning today," the leader of the 22 members, who spoke to press after the meeting at the Assembly building, said.
"We believe that the State House of Assembly is currently without leadership. I am one of the leaders, but we believe that now is the time to act. As a result, we have rejected the leadership of the Bauchi State House of Assembly by a vote of no confidence.
